After a period of traveling and putting the pieces of my post-university life together, I am now beginning my adult life. Here is my plan for 2011:
Green – accomplished
Blue – focusing on now (updated 24-11-2011)
New life habits
- Floss: By Week 5, once a day, all 7 days
- Proper posture
- Go big or go home: step up the intensity when I can (ongoing)
Healthy living
- Drink a tall glass of lemon water each day
- Have a tall glass of Greens+ multivitamin 3x a week
- Eat ~4 servings of vegetables each day
- Do intense workout 2-3x a week, followed by minimum 5-minute, deep stretch
- Have 2 cups of (looseleaf) tea a day
- Stick to non-sugary alcoholic drinks
- (At a minimum, every day in the summer) Wear sunscreen on face
- (Starting in summer) Take a 30-minute walk 2x/week
Fun
- Go out every Friday and Saturday
- Get entrepreneurial venture with Alvin up and running (reassessed throughout the year: no longer a priority)
- Get 1000 Twitter followers
- Blog, Twitter, or read in a coffee shop 1x per week
- Try a new restaurant 1x every 2 months (reassessed throughout the year: no longer a priority)
- Invite friends for tea 1x every 2 weeks (reassessed throughout the year: no longer a priority)
Zen
- Meditate 30 minutes 1x a week (Update: This became at least 3x/week, during walks or runs)
- Write in a journal 1x a week (Update: This became everyday, thanks to 280daily.com)
Finances
- Grow my net worth by amount specified in my financial plan
- Develop and automate a financial portfolio (by 2nd Sunday in March)
- Track all expenses against budget
- Read a financial literacy book 1x every 2 months
Professional Development
- Bond with new coworkers
- Develop my leadership skills
- Develop my communication skills
- Do some sort of networking activity once every 2 months (i.e. new relationships)
- Do some sort of relationship management activity once every month (Update: This became at least 1x/week)
- Read one professional development book 1x every 4 months
Organization
- Schedule everything into calendar
- Review all finances once a month (Sunday) (Update: Became 1x/every few days)
- Do groceries once a week (Sunday)
- Do laundry once a week (Sunday)
- Write a new recipe on index card once a month (last Sunday of each month) (reassessed throughout the year: no longer a priority)
- Clear to-do list once every 2 weeks (2nd Sunday)
- Track progress against all goals
- Keep all receipts in an envelope
- Charge BB every night
